April 28, 2012 – Senator Steinberg’s Community Outreach Event

I was thrilled and excited to help out CAL EXPO at this event with my court, Jenny, Christina, and Samantha. We started out setting up a spin the wheel game and learning all these trivia questions that young kids would answer in order to receive a prize! A sample question would be “What’s the pregnancy period of a cow?” or “How many eggs can a queen bee lay per day?”  There were also super good prizes like free monotrail ride ticket, free cal expo admission ticket, and many more!  This free event had tons of booths that gave many freebies out like bananas, apples, fans, tote bags from companies ranging from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, to the Sacramento Police Department, Edd, Kaiser, and more! We then got to meet Senator Steinberg and speak with him on his mission in community outreach.  We also got to meet POPPY–CAL EXPO’s mascot.  I felt so touched helping, providing, and seeing all these young children simply having big smiles on their faces from this fun-filled event. Thank you Tina Novoa for allowing us to help CAL EXPO!
