June 2, 2012 – APAPA Capitol Award, Scholarship Fundraising and Installation Gala

Tonight was a night to celebrate one of our 2012 MAS judges, Tom Bhe, in recognition for receiving an Outstanding Community Service Award at the 8th Annual APAPA Gala.  APAPA-CEF stands for Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association Community Education Foundation, which embraces the empowerment of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in California.  This event was hosted at the Sheraton in downtown Sacramento, where many Asian American businessmen/women, elites, political leaders, etc gather to celebrate the internship award, the scholarship fundraiser, as well as the installation.  It was an honor to meet and listen to the keynote speaker of the night, the Honorable Mayor Edwin Lee of San Francisco, who also was a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.  The wonderful anchor/reporter of News10 KXTV-Sacramento, Sharon Ito was the lovely Master of Ceremonies of the evening, of whom we celebrated her retirement from News10.  Throughout the evening, I was able to indulge a fancy meal from salad, bread, grilled chicken breast with mash potatoes and asparagus, and last but not least, cheesecake–Delicious! The night ended with the installation of APAPA Officers, the Honorable Judge of the Superior Court of Sacramento County, Russell Hom, as well as roughly 20 interns receiving certificates and scholarships of their amazing achievements.  Congratulations to the APAPA Board of Director, Tom Bhe in your achievement! Keep up the good work! Thank you for having us!
