In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day.
The MAS Team is honoring the Veteran’s Day Celebration by participating the parade on Capitol Ave today.
My Driver Fred (from the Bay Valley Convertible Club) is a formal Marine and had served our county for years now a retired English teacher with the Sac county prison. He loves to be part of the Annual Veterans Parade. I so agree with him!
After a brief greeting, our conversation goes straight into the subjects of how important is to help one and other when we are living in the same community. He told me the miracles he saw repeatedly with the church ministry‘s helping the prisoners to find peace and joy during their rough time behind bars before his retirement.
My sons were at the parade. They got a very clear idea of how many soldiers are fighting for the peace we are enjoying now. The greatest gift you can give your children is teaching them to Love…..To love other besides themselves.
Love is patient, Love is kind.
If we all can treat others as the way we want to be treated…. Then there will be no war. (Would that be ever possible?) All the men and women can stay home with their love ones to enjoy our very little time as human been on earth.
I saw the movie Agro which was produced and direct by Ben Affleck. What’s a true hero? The word “hero” is thrown about quite freely today; you win a game you are called a hero. But from the movie Agro, a hero is someone who willingly places his life in jeopardy to aid another in grave danger …. Just like our veterans.
Hope many more troops will be coming home soon. No matter who is the president we got to believe that God is the KING!
God bless America!
